POOL HEATER REPLACEMENT

The proposed project would purchase a new 3/4 ton pickup that would replace unit #144.

Justification:

Vehicle # 144 is over 20 years old and is becoming less reliable and increasingly difficult to maintain. The purchase of a new 3/4 ton pickup would be more reliable, efficient and financially easier to maintain.

Budget Impact:

Native Prairie Seeding

22-PARK-001

Description:

The purpose of this project tis to purchase native prairie seed, design, and incorporate them into several parks. They would be designed to function as both an educational opportunity as well as park beautification. There has been a significant interest in pollinators throughout the country and I think Spencer has an opportunity to incorporate native prairie into our parks that have larger green spaces. These seeding's could provide educational opportunities for citizens of all ages and abilities. The species incorporated into these seed mixes would have the ability to provide flowering plants throughout the spring, summer, and fall creating additional beauty within the parks. An added bonus to these would be decreasing the area the park staff has to mow on a weekly basis allowing staff to be more efficient with their time.

Budget Impact:

Shelter house Lighting

22-PARK-002

Description:

the purpose of this project is to install lighting in both the Deerfield and East Leach Shelter houses.

Justification:

The current shelter houses at both parks currently have no lighting (Deerfield) or very poor lighting (1 light in East Leach). The main reason to incorporate these lights is to decrease the chance for vandalism and increase security at these parks after dark. The second reason would be to promote the use of these areas, this would increase the likelihood that these shelter houses would get used more often for a variety of events, dinners, and get together.
