The proposed project will replace the primary wiring for electrical service to Pederson Park. This project was identified on the Master Plan for Pederson Park. 18-PARK-005 PEDERSON PARK LIGHTING The primary wiring is necessary to provide wiring for replacement transformers which are antiquated and hard to service. The project will replace the current heaters in the shelter house. In their place, a new heating system will be installed and will include air conditioning for the enclosed shelter house. 19-PARK-001 LEACH PARK - HVAC SHELTER HOUSE A new HVAC system will replace the old hanging heaters and will provide better comfort and energy efficiency. The replacement of the primary wiring and transformers will reduce maintenance costs.

REPLACE 60" MOWER

The proposed project will replace the 60" Grasshopper mower with a new unit. The replacement of the mower is based on the mower replacement schedule. This project should lower maintenance costs versus current equipment.

The proposed project will develop and construct a trail adjacent to 4th Ave SW from 13th Street SW to 25th Street SW. 19-PARK-003 4TH AVE SW TRAIL The project would provide a multi-use trail for the SW sector of Spencer. It will provide a safe way to get to 11th Street SW and connect to the rest of the City's trail system.

Maintenance costs will increase due to the completion of this project.

Budget Impact:

The proposed project is the upgrade of the street lights adjacent to the entry road into Riverview Park. 19-PARK-004 AQUATIC CENTER STREET LIGHTS

Description: Justification:

The current lights are inoperable and the lights all need new ballasts and electrical work. Providing these lights operate long hours, upgrading to LED is a possibility.

Budget Impact:

The proposed project will purchase and install new equipment to place in and around the new shelter house that was constructed a couple of years ago. 19-PARK-005 DEERFIELD PARK SHELTER EQUIPMENT Tables and grills are needed to finish the shelter house and make the facility more usable by the public. The tables currently used are being borrowed from other parks.

The proposed project would provide funds for the repair of trail deficiencies.

Description: Justification:

Due to weather and age, sections of the recreational trails will need small patches and repairs. Foregoing these repairs will cause safety concerns in the future as well as potential greater expense to replacement.

Budget Impact:

The proposed project would make repairs to the existing gravel roads in Stolley Park and the Leach Park Campground. 19-PARK-007 STOLLEY / CAMPGROUND ROAD MAINT

Due to wear and tear, the roads need an adequate base to withstand the traffic of the parks.
