Description of Services:

The Solid Waste Department is responsible for the collection of all solid waste within the City of Spencer. Collection occurs at residential, commercial and industrial properties as well as new construction sites. Other services provided by the Solid Waste Department includes the transfer station where residents may dispose of additional solid waste; a yard waste site for the disposal of grass clippings, tree limbs, and other yard waste; acceptance of appliances and e-waste for recycling; drop off bins for recycling and cardboard; and tire and scrap metal disposal. Solid waste is hauled to the Northern Plains Regional Landfill near Graettinger.
