The proposed project consists of replacing computers throughout the City with more up to date systems. This is the start of a rotational schedule to ensure that the computers are in good working order and are up to date with current technology. 14-TECH-001 COMPUTER REPLACEMENT As technology changes and the demands of the City's software changes, we need to ensure that we are using up to date computers that are capable of doing the tasks that we demand of them. The proposed project consists of the purchase of new computer software modules and the extension of access to the city's financial system by off-site departments. Over time, the modules that the city is looking at include time entry, project management, software for the cemetery, and potentially building permits. 15-TECH-001 SOFTWARE EXPANSION Keeping employees and departments informed is a priority of city management. By allowing off-site departmental access to the city's financial system, they will be able to better track expenditures, budget for expenses and plan for the future. Gradually, as we add new modules to the current software system, more efficient use of the employee's time will occur. In addition, adding new modules will allow the city to better track projects and building projects. Besides, the software purchase, there will be a yearly maintenance fee that accompanies each software module. This varies on the module purchased. The proposed project consists of the purchase of a new Ashtech Promark GPS receiver and associated software upgrade. 19-TECH-001 GPS RECEIVER / SOFTWARE UPGRADE The City is continually increasing the amount of GPS data we have of city infrastructure, facilities, sewer lines, zoning and subdivision points and will need to upgrade the equipment we use to ensure accuracy. This project is an ongoing project as we are looking to replace a computer once it is 4 years old.
