FY 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Plan

The proposed project consists of 2 phases. Phase 1 would move the control panel above ground and replace of the pumps with a dry pit submersible pump (15 HP). Phase 2 consists of the rehabilitation of the wet well. 18-SEW-002 COUNTRY CLUB LIFT STATION REHABILITATI At the time of replacement, the controls would be 48 years old and in need of replacement. Technology has changed since the original controls were installed. Over the years, the wet well has deteriorated to the point of needing repair. At the time of rehabilitation, the wet well will be 49 years old. Also, the project would allow the lift station to operate during a flooding event. The proposed project consists of 2 phases. Technology ahs changed since the original controls were installed. Over the years, the wet well has deteriorated. At the time of rehabilitation, the wet well will be 46 years old. Also, the project would allow the lift station to operation during a flooding event. The proposed project would consist of rehabilitation or reconstruction of the storm sewer intakes throughout the community. This is proposed as an ongoing project. 18-SEW-005 INTAKE CATCH BASIN REHABILITATION The city has intakes throughout the community that have rotten and sinking which is damaging the street and storm sewer pipe. The City has utilized in-house crews to do the work in the past, but due to the number of intakes needing repair the other regular maintenance of the city infrastructure, it is deemed necessary to hire this work done. Maintenance costs associated with street repairs and storm sewer repairs should decrease where the intakes have been rebuilt. The proposed project would hire a contractor to use a high pressure cleaning system to clean the ductile iron sewer from County Club Lane to 32nd Ave West. This sewer line was installed in 1972 and was planned to be converted to a force main at some point in the future. Sewer flow will need to be by-passed during the cleaning project. 19-SEW-001 WEST 4TH ST MAIN MAINTENANCE Over the years, the sewer line has built up sediment that has reduced the capacity which has caused problems. Once the pipe is cleaned, the City will then televise the line to verify the condition of the pipe to see if future maintenance or replacement is needed. Maintenance costs should be lower due to new controls and pump. Maintenance costs should be lower due to new controls and pump.

The proposed project will purchase a small trailer to haul the mower for the wastewater treatment plant. 19-SEW-002 UTILITY TRAILER

Description: Justification:

The purchase will allow the City wo maintain a trailer loaded at all times with the necessary pumps and equipment used during storm conditions. Currently, the department has one trailer that is used for multiple purposes and during storm events, the necessary equipment must be loaded before responding. This has delayed the city's repossess time in the past.

Budget Impact:

The proposed project will consist of the purchase of a 3/4 ton pick up truck with utility box for use at the wastewater treatment plant. 21-SEW-001 VEHICLE REPLACEMENT

Description:

The project will replace the 2000 Ford truck that will be 21 years old at the time of replacement.
