Departmental Highlights

The Public Works Administration department accounts for expenses related to Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director. Together they oversee the operations of the Street, Sanitary Sewer, Solid Waste, Landfill and Airport Divisions. Since they oversee more than one operating department, their expenses are separated outed and are funded proportionately form each of the operating funds. The department acquired two new vehicles in FY for the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director. These replaced 15+ year old vehicles that had been handed down form other city departments.

Budget Review

Total expenditures for the division were $181,451.52 for FY 18, an increase of $477.40 (+0.26%) compared to FY 17. Overall expenditures were flat compared to FY 17. This department accounts for expenses related to the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director. Employees within the department are members of IPERS and those expense were flat for FY 18. The Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director oversees the operations of the Public Works Department which is comprised of the Street, Solid Waste, Sanitary Sewer , Airport and Landfill Divisions. These expenses are accounted for separately as they are not tied to one specific operations. The department does not have a dedicated capital improvement budget. When capital purchases are required, the expense are spread

out over the main operating divisions of Public Works. Overall the department expended 99.3% of its budget.
