Summary Revenues and Expenditures by Fund Type Departmental activities are included in two budgetary categories. These include Restricted Funds and Capital Projects. A description of the activities included in each of these fund types follows: Restricted Funds - The department has one operational fund that is classified as Restricted. This is the Capital Improvement Reserve. This fund accounts for the city's portion of Local Option Sales Tax that is to be used for capital improvements and also serves as a fund for internal loans to projects as necessary. Primary funding for this fund comes from Local Option Sales Tax and outstanding loan repayments. Capital Projects - The department has two operational duns classified as Capital Projects. These include the Capital Projects fund and the Enterprise Capital Projects. The Capital Projects fund is used for all non-enterprise departmental capital projects. The Enterprise Capital Projects funs is used for capital projects of the city's enterprise funds. Revenues for these projects comes from a variety of sources including grants, debt and internal money restricted for projects.
