DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The City owns and operates two cemeteries, Riverside Cemetery and North Lawn Cemetery. Together there is over 60 acres located in the two locations. Currently, there are approximately 140 interments per year, 90 at Riverside and 50 at North Lawn. The Department employs one full-time employee and four part-time employees to maintain the two locations. When not performing maintenance duties at the cemeteries, the staff also assists the Parks Department with mowing city property. Departmental expenditures increased in FY17 by $2,031.74 (+1.54%) compared to FY16. Increases can be attributed to normal costs of operation. The Department expended 88.42% of its budget in FY17. There were no personnel changes in FY16 in the number of full-time or part-time staff.
