DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Street Department - Street Lighting budget accounts for the utility bills to operate the City's street lighting system and traffic signals. Expenditures for this budget increased in FY17 by $1,602.17 (+0.99%) compared to FY16. The reason for the increase in expenditures is mainly due to an increase in electric rates from Spencer Municipal Utilities. The City has encouraged the installation of LED streetlights wherever feasible to reduce electric consumption and therefore our cost. The Department expended 108.82% of its budget in FY17.
