STREET DEPARTMENT - STREET CLEANING

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Street Cleaning budget accounts for the City's expense in cleaning streets. It accounts for salaries of those employees involved in the those duties as well as maintenance on the street sweepers and other miscellaneous related expenses. The City has over 85 miles of paved streets that are cleaned in the spring and fall.

Expenditures decreased by $9,588.40 (-22.95%) in FY17 compared to FY16. The decrease was attributable to lower salaries and commodities. The operation expepended 57.68% of its allocated budget in FY17. Employees of the Street Department are responsible for cleaning the streets, however due to state reporting requirements, the City accounts for street cleaning expenses separately from the general street related maintenance and operations.
