FUND INFORMATION

The Golf Course Operations fund accounts for the business-like operations of the City's municipal golf course. The Golf Course Operations fund is primarily supported through user fees and receives no general property tax support. Revenues for FY15 were slightly higher than FY14, an increase of $38,062.92 (+9.84%) . All revenue line items saw increases in FY16 over FY15. This could be attributed to a earlier opening date for the course Expenditures, net of non-mandatory transfers, increased in FY16 versus FY15, an increase of $26,997.95 (+7.49%) . The primary cause of the increase were higher Salaries and Wages, increased Repairs, Maintenance and Utilities and increased Commodities. For Commodities, the increase can be attributed to increased beer and liquor purchases, increased chemical costs and increased supplies purchased. The Golf Course Operations Fund unassigned balance on June 30, 2016 was $114,441.36 , a 5.15% increase from FY15. This amount represents 28.57% of the City's FY17 budgeted golf course expenditures. In all of the City's major funds, the City strives to have at least 25% of the coming fiscal year's expenditures in the fund as a unassigned fund balance.
