FUND INFORMATION

The City constructs a new disposal cell at the landfill approximately every three to five years. In order to have funds available for the construction of each new cell, the City transfers money on an annual basis from the Landfill Operations fund to the Landfill Cell Construction fund. This ensures that money is available at the time of construction and that the Landfill would not need to take on additional debt to build a new cell. At the time of construction, money is transferred from the Cell Construction fund to the Enterprise Capital Projects fund for disbursement through a project account. The City awarded contracts in the spring of 2017 for the construction of a new cell. This project will be complete by the fall of 2017.
