PROJECT INFORMATION

The project consisted of the construction of a new cell for the future disposal of solid waste. The previous cell was near permitted and designed capacity and a new cell was needed. This cell will be approximately 3 acres in size and should last approximately three years with current disposal rates. Along with the construction of a new cell, improvements were made to the leachate pond facility. The pond size was increases as well as improvements were made with the pumping structure and pumps. These improvements will increase employee safety when loading out leachate trucks. The City annually sets money aside for the continued construction of new cells. The money to pay for this project will come from the cell construction reserve.
