PROJECT INFORMATION

The City has contract with Kruse, Cate and Nelson to develop a project that will help control storm drainage and improve water quality in the south end of the City, near the Municipal Golf Course. Funding for this project will come from the State's Sponsored Project funds which are made available because the City has a qualifying State Revolving Loan for it's 2016 Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvement project. The City is eligible for up to 10% of the loan amount, which in this case will be $360,000. The project consited of creating a new water detention basin and cooling area just to teh east side of the Municipal Golf Course, improvements to the Golf Course pond to retain and slow incoming water down, and improvements to the water retention basion on 4th Ave SW, just south of Wal-Mart. the ditch area to the east of the Days Inn hotel will also be improved as well as a new drainage ditch behind the hotel to accomodate the lfow of water from the intersection of 12th St SW and Grand Plaza Drive. These improvements are designed to slow heavy rainfall and to allow for the settlement of sediment in the water.
